Day of Logistics:
IMPORTANT: YOU MUST BRING A GOVERNMENT-ISSUED ID (Driver’s License, Passport, State-Issued Legal ID card). Student IDs and Credit Card photos will not be accepted by building security. There is no off-site meeting location; if you are unable to get into the building, you WILL BE COLD.
State House Steps for Picture (note the white dome)
IMPORTANT TIP: We strongly recommend that you get through building security as early as possible. We have appointments beginning as early as 9 A.M. and it will take time for all participants to get through security, especially with other Annapolis visitors.
Meeting Location: Please check your meeting location building and floor for your first appointment carefully so you go through the correct building security. Plan to meet with your team at least 15 -30 minutes prior to your first appointment on the floor of that appointment.
Parking Map: Here is the link to a map with available parking garages. There is somewhat limited parking, so we recommend getting there early. Street parking is extremely limited during legislative session, and the signs can be confusing; don’t risk getting towed!
Building Acronyms: There are 5 building acronyms you will need to know. Both THOB and LHOB have the same entrance into the House building, while MSOB and JSOB have the same entrance into the Senate building.
THOB: Taylor House Office Building (6 Bladen Street, Annapolis, MD 21401)
LHOB: Lowe House Office Building (6 Bladen Street, Annapolis, MD 21401)
MSOB: Miller Senate Office Building (11 Bladen Street, Annapolis, MD 21401)
JSOB: James Senate Office Building (11 Bladen Street, Annapolis, MD 21401)
SH: State House (100 State Circle, Annapolis MD 21401)
That’s it for the tips and reminders!

Legislative Day is the centerpiece of the Maryland Pharmacy Coalition’s efforts to send a unified pharmacy message to our legislators in Annapolis. The Coalition organizes position statements on many of the legislative bills affecting pharmacy practice and brings hundreds of student pharmacists and pharmacists together to educate legislators and staff about the importance of pharmacy practice to the public health for the state of Maryland.
All attendees will be organized into groups by legislative district and will meet with legislators or their staff members during designated appointments. Event participants answer questions about pharmacy practice and education. Every year pharmacy’s presence is noticeable and continues to make a strong impact as healthcare issues are discussed in the General Assembly.
